I'm a pretty mellow driver, especially when driving the long road back to Glendive.

When I was in college so long ago, hearing endlessly about the never dying opportunities that would give, I used to love to head out to the trout streams that were scattered around the area and listen to 'hit you were you life' by Petra, just blaring. I had an old 74' Malibu and the front shocks were sort of going on it, the back springs already sagging so if you came over a hilltop and something a bit over the speed limit it was like you were floating with that pounding bass and those crisp vocal 'Hit you were you live. You can't hold back. When you're struck by His love you will know.' When I was away form the Lord I listened to all the stuff, and Iwas not uninspired by it, but now I realize that the message of most it does not glorify God. If it glorifies anything at all other than God it glorifies us. I have come full circle with the secular music. Now the only secular music I listen to is classical or other forms of world cultural instrumental. I just got tired of listening to Bon Scott gayly proclaim his intention to die young and burn forever. I wonder if at this point he thinks it was worth the pulse pounding adrenaline.

One of my all time favorite driving and rocking songs has got to be "Open Road Song" by Eve6. If you've ever had a car that would start to shake on the freeway, the chorus of "... my pile shakes as I hit 80 on the open road..." I try to make sure that is on all my road trip playlists...
