20 Year Journey, Not Done Yet
Nov 2011 09

It has been two decades! This has been quite a trek!

November 1991 marked the beginning of a new life for me as I became a Christ-follower.

  • I don’t think of myself as a religious person, but I found a real, living God – who’s truth has continued to challenge and change me.
  • My first step of following after Jesus didn’t happen in a church building, but at the base of Snoqualmie Falls – I walked back up the hiking trail literally feeling like a new person.
  • I did nothing to impress God and make Him look my way – but through Jesus He made a permanent impression upon me.

This past week I have been thinking about all that I have seen and been a part of! The way He blessed me with an incredible friend in my wife Kristy. The phenom crazies known as my kids. The lifelong friends, some of which were in my life in back 1991 and still here today. The amazing ways God has come through in my life time and time again! The gracious and life-giving church that I get to serve and be a part of.

I think back to that hike down the trail at Snoqualmie Falls. It’s a great picture of this life of faith:

  • I didn’t know the whole path, but the path was laid out for me to walk. There is a way, truth and life!
  • I didn’t walk it perfectly, but I kept going!
  • I went with friends, because there’s no reason to hike alone.

Here’s to the next 20 years! And if you have been part of my past two decades – thanks!

Time goes by so quickly and God has been faithful through all of those years.
